DIY - TwoSun TS70 blade mod

Happy New Year! :)
TwoSun TS70 blade mod

The TwoSun TS70 is an interesting flipper for sure with a quite unique blade shape and surprisingly good details. Although I liked its funky "tactical pizza slicer" blade design I wanted something more pointy. I had several plans in my had before I started this mod and I ended up with the 1st version.

You can buy the TS70 on Aliexpress: ***HERE***

Before and after with the TS139 and the TS16:

  1. Now that's a good tip :)

before that it was looking like a folding butter knife.

Maybe a false edge would be nice. If you want I can take a shot of the one I gave to my TS51, I guess you could like that.
I used a grinder with guides for scissors sharpening. Takes some practice but the results can be nice.

    1. That would be great thanks!

I tried to keep the blade shape as simple as possible because I wasn't sure about my grinding skills. :)

    2. Great, I just deleted my post with some links in it, grr...

Ok, here some close-ups of the tip of my TS51:

You see the difference when you check the newer and the older pics, too.

I've ground the tip with a scissors sharpener like this:

even though this is looking interesting, too:

The guided angle helps a lot, practive even more ;)

I've made 4 or 5 cutting tools like this:

for me and some colleagues, of course every one different, some with epoxied paracord. If you care then I can take shots of them tomorrow.
Now I gotta go out with the kids. Take care folks.

    3. Thanks a lot for the pics! I'll try to do a sort of false edge with a guided sharpener sooner or later.

  2. Nasreddin Hodja catches a white stork and says "What an abominable creature!" He sets about cutting its legs and beak in half. Thereafter, he admires his work and says "Now you have begun to look like a bird!"
Jokes aside, knife looks better. And of course, stabbier. Good job!

  4. The "vertical edge" on the nose, is it sharp or blunt on the original knife?

    1. The "vertical edge" of the original blade was blunt so I didn't loose any cutting edge by removing the nose.

  5. Great mod and well done Isti.
Although, what made this knife unique was its odd blade shape.

    1. Thank you!
I know that and I also miss the weird "pizza slicer" look but I couldn't rest without a tip at the end of the blade. :)
