  1. If I were not so broke already, these offerings would make me even more broke.

    1. I also try to concentrate on the sub $20 offerings nowadays with more or less success. ;)

    2. I'm somewhat glad that the local laws forbid OTFs, Automatics, throwing knives and Balisongs. I'd really like the blue ones above if it wasn't so.

    3. No balisongs but you can keep your military issued assault rifle at home (without ammo)? :)

    4. I can't, I served the German Air Force and if I could then I wouldn't want to have a gun at home with 2 kids around. At least locking one-hand openers are legal here, the German law is just ridiculous.

    5. Isti, I'd say you're right about the Nirvana. I like it but it's too heavy and I already have way too much Spyderclones, ranging from quality. What do you think of the Firebird (Ganzo) FH11? Looks like a very decent compact kwaiken-ish budget folder. I'm currently waiting for the Kizer Sealion, which is comparible in size. I felt so sad for Kizer Store they had to send me a replacement sheath for the Thumbper and pay extra shipping costs. I ordered a Sealion so they can ship it with the same parcel (I despirately needed some kind of excuse ;)

    6. I have a FH11 in the mail, I hope it'll arrive soon. The very first Ganzo with D2 blade combined with a kwaiken design can't be bad. :) The design reminds me to THIS titanium - M390 kwaiken.

The Sealion looks like a nice gentleman's flipper. I look forward to hearing your opinion about it.

    7. Lol, I saw that one at a store on DHGate a couple of months ago for approximately $80,- I hesitated too long. After someone else bought one they immediately doubled the price (it was a mistake). Too bad. I think that one is similar to the m390 "Radiation" I've got last year for $70. Some stores sell it for 150. I seriously think mine IS m390 or at least a very very good alternative. I'll let you know about the Sealion (and the Dicoria 111 I re-ordered...I know). The postman is going to deliver a Aiorosu Tornado (black on black) today. Unfortunately I'm not at home to accept it but maybe I'm lucky. Some expensive shipments were dropped in my mailbox. But on the other hand I had to sign in person for something like the Bastinelli Picoeur clone (10 bucks).

    8. Unfortunately on DHgate the sellers can avoid shipping out mispriced items easily without getting any negative feedback. After a couple of weeks the order will be canceled due to the fake tracking number and you get a full refund.

I also noticed that weird mini ring knife (Bastinelli Picoeur)! :) Was it designed for SD?

At the moment I'm trying to avoid buying a Real Steel Precision (3001). :) It looks like a cool, compact but sturdy EDC friendly folder (Poltergeist Works collaboration with 14C28 blade). I'm wondering whether I could see any difference to SRM's 12C27 steel.

    9. This promotion video for the Le Picoeur is awesome! :)

  2. Any hints about smaller OTFs with decent quality?

  3. Btw have you seen that NOC DT02 flipper on Ali (Dicoria)? One of those wave daggers. Nice.

    1. This one? :) It's an elegant, sleek design although as I see it's not waved (the blade guard should face the opposite direction for that). The rules might have changed because they dared to show the fuller on the blade.

  4. Holy cow! That $50 well spend! The Aiorosu Tornado is beyond my expectations. Cool design, perfect fit and finish, perfect action and one of the best grips yet from a Chinese knife. Ok, it's 440c. Whatever.

    1. It makes a nice combo with that all black BM810.
How is the flipping action? Is it a fast or smooth flipper?

    2. The BM Contego has some kind of dlc coating. It's much tougher than I suspected for the price. The Aiorosu is actually acid blackwashed, but with finesse. It's so smooth. The flipping action is superb, but you must have experiece with these kind of knives. My gf encountered difficulties. To me it's buttery smooth, like the Samier sinkevich cf. My gf has flue and weaker fingers, so that might have caused a problem too. It's a steel liner lock (very sturdy, steel on one side) with MRBS bearings. Very fluid. I'm really enthousiastic about this knife. As you know Aiorosu is a Maxace brand. Not quite populair, but for me...I really dig their tactical style.

    3. I'm definately gonna get me a Maxace Legion (sheepfoot) next month. I only have to make a decision about the composition (black, stonewashed, jade/pink etc)

    4. The Legion-I looks awesome with black washed blade. Even the plain black handle with red liners is nice enough.

  5. About the Aiorosu: best blackwashing I've ever seen. Great fun to play with...thwack!!!

  6. Jesus f Christ. I'm reading my comments now. No, I don't work for Maxace or Aiorosu. Yes they are that good ;)

    1. I wouldn't notice the Legion-I sheepfoot without your comments because it looks quite boring in those photoshopped pics on Ali! :)

Just keep continue it because I'm still not convinced by the Tornado! ;)

  7. Sigh. I know it's an original design. Maybe you not like. Blade big. Black (no insinuations here;) brand. Ok, I'm gonna focus on my beer, gf and morrocan hash. Peace!

    1. I mean in the real pics it looks much better with the fuller and the hole on the blade.

  9. Yeah, it does. And the size is good. It has teklock. I wish all companies switched to the Sanrenmu sheath lock system, it's very convenient. One more thung about the Tornado, it isn't the best edc due to the weight, bulkiness and blade shape. Still like it though ;) Have a nice day.

  10. That's the first time I see cloners actually cloning a Chinese maker.
This Balisong is a clone of the Maxace Covenant.

    1. Maybe it's not a clone. Who knows? I suppose sellers can't sell Maxace products cheaper than the official price.

    2. No, it's clone. original has Maxace on the blade, uses M390, ceramic bearings, flush screws, etc...
It it worth 4x as much though? probably not.
Like I said, I'm just surprised to the them clone a Chinese company. Other that this Reate Horizon clone that was floating around a couple of years ago, I have never seen them clone their own.

    3. I guess one could say that, but to be fair, KJ is not "a reputable well known Chinese brand", he's a cloner himself. So I guess cloners cloning cloners is acceptable LOL!.
What I was trying to get at is that you see cloners clone ZTs, Shiros, CRKTs, Benchmade, Spyderco etc... all the time while you never see them clone Kizer, Reate, WE, Maxace, Rike, etc... so I thought there was some kind of respect towards their own countrymen, I guess not...

      Delete
    4. For me it is. :)
I guess Kevin John has been on the market at least double time than those new comers and the Venom models are original designs as I know.

      Delete
    5. Not here to argue and I wasn't referring to KJ's quality. I have a Venom Attacker and it's still the nicest built knife I own (and I have a couple of WEs and a Reate), but that's not the point I was trying to make.
Cloning brand like ZT, Spyderco, WE and Rike will make them more money than cloning KJ. And while they never had problem cloning foreign brands, they were avoiding cloning Chinese brands up to now.

    6. I don't know how they choose their donors because sometimes they clone quite rare and unique stuffs too. If no one knows the original that might be risky. :)
