  1. That, sir, looks definitely yummy...
I'll wait on it a bit since I've received so many great knifes of late, but it definitely goes on my "wanted" list!

    1. Just don't wait too long because it's a limited run! :)

  2. Oh I like that one! Is it an original design or a copy of something?
The $150 price tag is a bit much for me though and a lockback insert would have been nice.
I would get a D2 budget version in a heartbeat though.

    1. As I know it's an original design. Chris Reeve still makes all of his frame-lock folders without a steel lock-bar insert. ;)

    2. Yes, but this is no Sebenza, and even Sebenzas get lock stick once in a while ;)
Also, this being quite a large knife, it's not really one for drop in the pocket, a nice low profile pocket clip would have been welcomed.
Still, looks like a great EDC.

    3. What do you think about this titanium clip?
I don't have any spare milled titanium clip at the moment...

    4. It's a nice clip but not matching with the straighforward no-nonsense lines of the knife.
      My 2 ct

    5. Yes, it's not matching. A straight, milled bead blasted clip would be better.

    6. Yes, this one begs for a slender clip, something like the XY-650 but straight.

  3. Nice one, Isti. A gentleman's slipjoint/front flipper with the looks of a Redencion. Quite heavy though, considering the blade thickness, but it looks very cool and practical. I really like the jimping on the front of the blade.

    1. You meant frame-lock/front flipper. ;)
I suppose the solid titanium slabs add the extra weight. I'm not sure about the Redencion resemblance. You could make 2 Puppy folders out of a Redencion anyway! :)

    2. *facepalms* always thought a slipjoint was an old school folder with a groove...still learning every day lol ;)

  4. I saw this and was very curious about it. I gotta say it’s one of those knives that just appears out of nowhere and is very unique and intriguing. I want to say that it’s made by Maxace? I thought I read that somewhere when trying to learn more about it. It works well as a front flipper?

  5. Hello Isti, nice front flipper without a clip, I want to ask another thing though ;)
My co-worker's brother wants a new knife. He owns a Spyderco Tenacious with CF scales made by me, a small Starbenza clone with rainbow anodizing (still waiting for the pics) and a 9103.
He likes all those knives and liked the Neon Ultralight clone on the pictures. His budget would be around $70. What would you recommend? Clone or not clone. I've also sent him a link for the Vouking G02 cos I think 20cm open length is his maximum.
Oh, he's working at the zoo and his knives must be beaters, so maybe metal handle is better...

    1. Those folders are quite different! :)
What's about the titanium frame-lock FURA flippers or the titanium Shirogorov F95 style Green Thorn or Bear Claw flippers?

    2. I show those ones, too, but also a TwoSun TS69.

      We'll see ;)

    3. I have a TS69 in the mail too. I hope it will arrive soon.

  6. Telling the truth this is the first time I've ever heard about Mosquito Tactical. They have a couple of unique designs so I'd like to try more of their folders.

I couldn't find any similar and elegant design in this price range with M390 so I took the plunge. I didn't want to make the same mistake as with the very first District 9 tanto flipper. I'm still regretting not to buy that...

The front flipper opening method works fine.

  7. I just received this knife and I have added a milled clip to it. It turned out pretty well I think.

    1. That looks really nice! I'd like to add something similar to mine too.

As I see you also went for the stone washed version. :)

  8. It's the "Custom Made Titanium Pocket Clip For Zero Tolerance Knives ZT0560" from MXG gear. Not cheap but it's nice. Makes this a knife that I actually carry quite a bit.

  9. I found a nice pocket clip donor for the Puppy. I think THIS clip would fit the Puppy well. You can buy the donor HERE.

    1. Yes, this clip fits the knife well.
Did you end up making the mod to the scale? if so how did you do that?

      Delete
    2. I haven't pulled the trigger yet.
Since the pocket clip blind screwed from the inside I should drill two holes into the handle of the Puppy for the screws. I could use the handle of the Fura Gear as a template for the holes. That's all.
Two screws can fix the clip firmly to the handle. Milling a pocket into the handle for the clip would be beyond my possibilities anyway.

    3. Do you need some kind of special drill bit to drill on titanium?

      Delete
    4. As I know it can be drilled with a regular HSS bit.
