Review: outstanding FURA titanium flipper with D2 blade

FURA titanium flipper with D2 blade
Outstanding inexpensive titanium flippers

Pros:
- great ergonomics with excellent fit and finish, nicely rounded details
- excellent smooth flipping action thanks to the ball bearings
- perfectly centered blade with a nice stone washed finish
- solid, early lock-up without any blade play
- handy lock-bar and flipper tab design
- steel lock-bar insert with hidden lock-bar limiter
- elegant and comfortable handle design with titanium pocket clip
- nice anodization, clean lines there are only two screws on the presentation side
- very good price, amazing value

Cons:
- a sculpted pocket clip would be nice but I can't complain for anything at this price

  1. How strong is the detent and how easy is it to gravity flip? My Y-Start 5012 arrived this week and while it flips pretty good, its detent is weak making it very easy to gravity flip or fail when flipping, which is a massive bummer and it seems to be a common issue with the 5012's.

    1. The detent strength of this Fura is just perfect for me. I can flip it open every time easily without any extra effort on the other hand it's really hard to shake it open.

  2. Just disassemble the knife and slightly bend the lockbar VERY carefully towards the blade side. Usually this solves the problem. That Fura is a bargain btw. The design looks like it is inspired by the Dr. Death knife.

    1. Even cheaper for $30.79 at FastTech:
      https://www.fasttech.com/products/1901/10033078/9617905-fura-outdoor-survival-steel-folding-knife

Good remark about that Dr. Death design reference ;).

    2. If you use the OUT10OFF coupon at GearBest the price difference is quite marginal.

I don't know but besides the holes in the handle I can't see too much similarity with the Dr. Death. The Dr. Death clone has been on my wish list for a while but the sharp lines of the flipper tab and the handle keep me away. The overall design of the Fura flipper is much more refined / ergonomic IMO.

  3. Right now there's a flash sale at gearbest on that fura... The coupon won't work in addition to it, but that's making it cheaper than on FastTech even when going for the expensive Swedish Post registered shipping...

So I ordered it... I'm so weak...
