How strong is the detent and how easy is it to gravity flip? My Y-Start 5012 arrived this week and while it flips pretty good, its detent is weak making it very easy to gravity flip or fail when flipping, which is a massive bummer and it seems to be a common issue with the 5012's.
ReplyDeleteThe detent strength of this Fura is just perfect for me. I can flip it open every time easily without any extra effort on the other hand it's really hard to shake it open.
DeleteJust disassemble the knife and slightly bend the lockbar VERY carefully towards the blade side. Usually this solves the problem. That Fura is a bargain btw. The design looks like it is inspired by the Dr. Death knife.
ReplyDeleteEven cheaper for $30.79 at FastTech:

Good remark about that Dr. Death design reference ;).
If you use the OUT10OFF coupon at GearBest the price difference is quite marginal.
DeleteI don't know but besides the holes in the handle I can't see too much similarity with the Dr. Death. The Dr. Death clone has been on my wish list for a while but the sharp lines of the flipper tab and the handle keep me away. The overall design of the Fura flipper is much more refined / ergonomic IMO.
Right now there's a flash sale at gearbest on that fura... The coupon won't work in addition to it, but that's making it cheaper than on FastTech even when going for the expensive Swedish Post registered shipping...
ReplyDeleteSo I ordered it... I'm so weak...
