Because of a stupid rule of Aliexpress the sellers are forced to photoshop the locking mechanism and the "blood grooves" on the folders. So don't worry these folders come with a lock!

    2. I'd be all over it for $100, but for $200 I cant do.

    3. Same here. At $100, or up to $140 I'd be all over it. And it'd probably be already shipped to my address, but at $200, I'm more wary. Might still get one in the future, if reviews are good and so on...

    4. And there's the Viteli TOP1 which comes for a bit cheaper and looks great, too... But S35vn. Well, we'll see...

  2. Found this great dogtag knife https://www.aliexpress.com/store/product/Coin-C188-DOG-TAG-mini-folding-knife-D2-steel-blade-outdoor-hunting-necklace-key-chain-EDC/2220045_32758007241.html?spm=2114.12010108.0.0.QsS8RN

    1. I have it. Quality is decent but the bearings are just for show... I did only notice them after your comment, and opening the "knife" explains why: they're installed on one side only and placed in a way that guarantees they won't help. As a result the deployment is rather tight and hard, even with a very loose pivot. Plus the size of the pivot is very very very tightly the same as the hole in the blade so the main friction comes from here... Well, at least on mine. If you get one, tell us if it's smooth when you receive it!

    2. Thanks for the feedback. Its more of a gimmick than really useful. The titanium version with M390 much be way better then, some say even better than the spyderco!

The Sanrenmu 3119 is a better alternative for me.

    3. You should have a look at this new Hx Outdoors Dog Tag variant too. It's slightly bigger than the rest it comes with a 40 mm (1.57") long blade.

  3. Any idea what the blade steel is on the PM2?
I can't find a single listing that shows the real info.

  4. Yes, the Ti one listed on AE. All the listings say S30V which obviously it is not. I'm just wondering if it's a 8cr13mov, 440c, D2, etc... couldn't find the info.

    1. According to a fellow knife nut from Russia it's SS416 (XRF alloy analyzer result).

  5. Thanks.
Strange, I've heard of 416 SS, but never for a blade. Any idea what it compares too in terms of edge retention, hardness, etc...
Also, I was looking at some reviews on AE and a German reviewer said it was 9CR13MOV.
I guess it's pretty much impossible to know for sure.

    1. That Russian guy attached a screenshot of the XRF alloy analyzer too.

  6. I can fine anything on 416SS for blades, as I remember, this steel is mostly used for machine parts.
Could it be 4116 SS maybe? That would be roughly in the level of 440C or so.
