    1. Hi,
According to the pics that's an OEM Kershaw Cryo manufactured by Sanrenmu. The Sanrenmu version looks a bit different and called 7056 (and it's cheaper).

  2. The Sanrenmu 7056 has the same blade as the Cryo, but a nicer handle shape (well, might be a matter of taste) and is a purely manual flipper (where the Cryo has assisted opening ... the Sanrenmu's blade even has the bore for the spring, I think, just that there is no spring). Not sure if the "OEM Cryo" has the assisted opening feature, though. On the plus-side for the Cryo - you can move the pocket clip in order to wear it tip-up

    1. The 4-way deep carry pocket clip of the Cryo is a nice feature over the Sanrenmu version for sure.

    1. Hi Mark,
That's a nice one with the CF scales!
The ZT0777 is a quite good design I also have one from the previous batch (none marked blade and pocket clip, G10/titanium handle with D2 blade). Here is mine.

  4. I almost went for that one... Probably should have... Its $75 cheaper and still sweet... But I ordered it quickly... Like ripping off a band-aid lol

  5. Do these actually come with the materials stated like M390, titanium, and carbon fiber? Or do they just come with crappy steels?

    1. As for the steel - you'll never really know (other than "In the internet, a guy said he knew a guy who knew a guy who knew a guy who really tested it and ..."). If the price seams realistic, the rest (Ti, CF, G10, whatever) is usually what they say it is.

    2. I've received my CF T.R.E. today. The handle is made of real titanium and CF for sure. I can't say anything about the blade steel without further testing and sharpening. My first impressions are very positive about this folder.

    3. Got mine today, a bit later than you (as usual, thanks French Post!) and indeed, very positive impressions. I'm thinking 9Cr18Mov for the blade, from the colour. The price suggests clearly that it's not m390 but it seems good. Quite sharp out of the box, too. And indeed, the titanium handle looks very similar to the one on the full Ti, the CF handle is really CF and quite nicely done, too.
Positive impression, even if not very very smooth (probably needs a good cleaning).
I'll soon do a side by side pictures post with the full Ti version!

    4. Franz, you should really buy a handheld XRF alloy analyzer! They are not as expensive! ;)))

    5. Wow, really amazing what tools exist, a bit like a crude tricorder.
I've seen one sold on ebay for just as little as $15k.

Someone should really buy that so we know what steels are in our knives :P
